Probes can be used to gather information on a target that can then be used to invade their lands, or they can be sent to steal money or destroy strategical buildings. The chance of a successfull probe mission depends on 4 factors:
  • How many probes you send
  • Your target's land
  • How many probes your target has
  • Your target's probe shields

If your target's probe:land ratio is < 8, you will only need to send 8x their land.
If your target's probe:land ratio is >= 8, you will need to send 16x their land.
If your target has probe shields enabled, the maximum chance of success 100% - probe shields %, regardless of probes sent.

Each kingdom gains the the ability to probe once per hour. If you do not use your probing that hour, it will be accumulated to the next hour, allowing you to probe twice on the next hour. You can only accumulate up to a maximum of 10 probe uses (5 while in Mobilization State). If you reach your maximum, and do not use any that hour, the extra probe use you would have gained the next hour will be lost.

Accuracy of results:
When gathering information (Spy on ...) the accuracy of the results can vary. The formula is based on the chance (%) of success based on the above factors.
Less than a 10% chance of success (ie: 1 probe trick) will result in a random accuracy between 90% - 97%.
Greater than or equal to 10% chances of success will result in accuracy between 95 - 100% based on the chance of success.

Activate extra energy shields:
You can use any excess power to better protect your probes. This will reduce your losses by upto 50%, although the energy cost is not cheap.

You can research this technology to help further reduce probe losses by 50%.

Spy On Empire Provides an estimated overview of the target's stats, including military totals.
Spy On Sector News View the target's sector news over the past 12, 24 or 36 hours.
Spy On Military Displays an estimated breakdown of the target's military forces. This includes military units out on attacks, and the time until they return
Spy on Buildings Displays an estimated summary of the enemy's infrastructure
Spy on Research Displays an estimated summary of the enemy's research projects
Spy on Shields Displays the target's estimated shield levels
Spy on Probe History Proves some basic info on the target's last 12 hours of probings
Rob Banks Your probes can infiltrate the enemies banking systems and electronicly steal funds.
1 Probe can steal upto 10 Money, upto a maximum of 10% of the target's total balance
Arson Send your probes to destroy the target's residence. If your target has less than 5% residence, you probes will be unsuccessful
Sabotage Powerplants Send your probes to destroy the target's power plants. If your target has less than 5% power plants, you probes will be unsuccessful
Kidnappings Your probes will kidnap a portion of the target's population, adding them to your own.
Suicide Attack You can sacrafice your probes to destroy the enemy's power surplus. Each probe will destroy 10 power, however you will loose 100% of the probes sent.
